I pulled a fouled plug from my 2000, 5 HP Johnson outboard. I replaced the plug but the engine will not start. I pulled the new plug and it had oil on it. Do I need to pull apart and clean the combustion chamber as well?

My understanding is that is was 16:1 when they used 30 weight oil. Now days use 24:1 on the older motors with the needle bearings. Some shops use 32:1 for everything but you definately don't want to use 50:1. Pistons on these older motors with 3 rings need more oil.
